I’d like to thank Justin over at Lost In Porn Blog (Now Recovering) for the REALITY Blog Award he passed on to me. He was one of the first people I connected with when I started blogging and it has been great to journey through these past couple of months with him.
I started this blog as a way of opening up honest and safe discussions about sexuality and to address how it is dealt with in the Church and so far it has been different than I had anticipated, but so much better than I could have imagined. Thank you to this wonderful community who has walked with me and engaged in the conversation!
REALITY Blog Award Questions:
If you could change something what would you change?
I would change the way in which children and students are shamed with regards to their sexuality. I would change the way in which the Church addresses, dialogues, and doesn’t talk about sexuality.
If you could relive one day, when would it be?
I would relieve the day that I told me youth pastor that I was addicted to pornography, struggled with masturbation, and was feeling physically attracted to other girls. That moment was perhaps the best moment of my life thus far. Very transformative and defining.
What’s one thing that really scares you?
Being trapped- mentally, socially, spiritually, physically. I can’t stand the idea of not being able to move, grow, or change.
What one dream have you not completed yet, and do you think you will be able to complete it?
Oh my goodness! I have so many dreams! I want to write books, speak at conferences, and start a movement of Christians who are intentionally living with a holistic and healthy view of their sexual nature. I believe all of those things can happen 🙂
If you could be someone else for a day, who would you be?
Well, I really like being myself…I suppose I would be an X Games athlete. I think it would be fun to have those skills and do all those tricks/stunts- on a snowboard especially!
The bloggers I want to nominate for this award are as follows:
(If there’s one thing I like it’s honesty and a willingness to ask hard questions and this women does just that on her blog! She covers a range of topics, but always in an open, transparent, and conversational manner.)
(This woman is in the midst of a porn addiction (among other struggles) and blogs about her journey through it. She is also open and honest about where she is at and what she’s feeling.)
(A blog by a wonderful woman about her life and occasionally about her feelings and thoughts about being single. It’s written in a very accessible and light-hearted way!)
(Forgive me, I only nominated 3 blogs!)
[If I have nominated you for one of these awards, just do the same thing in a post as I’ve done here and nominate five bloggers per award, answering the various questions or following the rules if there are any. Add the award picture to your blog. Thanks!]
